Day 1

 

Arrival

 

Transfer from Malta International Airport to Hotel.

 

Day 2

 

Valletta

 

 

 

 

Our guided tour through the bustling streets will first allow you to view the Barrakka Gardens that command a breathtaking panorama of the Grand Harbour and then to St. John’s CoCathedral, adorned in riches that date back to the times of the Knights of Malta. After we will be visiting the Grand Master’s Palace, where we see the staterooms.

 

We stop at the Sacred Island Show for a multivision show.

 

During this tour we will also visit the church of St. Paul’s Shipwreck and also the Archaeological Museum.

Day 3

 

Gozo

 

 

Tour to Malta’s sister island of Gozo.

 

After a twentyminute ferry crossing, on setting foot in Gozo you will notice that although both islands are similar in history and development.

 

Gozo has a character entirely of its own.

 

Gozo, which is a three hilled island, is greener and more picturesque than Malta.

 

During this excursion, we visit the temples of Ggantija, the citadel in Victoria, the Bay of Xlendi, and Calypso’s Cave.

 

Free time for shopping will also be given – Gozo is renown for its woollen goods and handmade lace.

 

A visit to the Sanctuary of Our Lady at Ta’Pinu is included in the tour.

Day 4

 

Central Malta

 

 

Today’s excursion takes us to the central part of Malta that is dominated by the ancient citadel of Mdina.

 

On passing through the narrow streets of Mdina, the ‘Silent City’, we will admire the Cathedral and the imposing bastions that command a magnificent view of most of the island.

 

Next we visit the grotto of St. Paul where the Apostle Paul is said to have resided.

 

Some time for prayers will be allowed.

Day 5

 

South Malta

 

 

Discover the southern part of Malta.

 

After having visited the fishing villages of Marsaxlokk and Birzebbugia we proceed to the fabled Blue Grotto where there will be the possibility of admiring the grottoes from close by. (Boat price not included– weather permitting).

 

Tarxien Temples is a group of three temples that due to their very good state of preservation provided plentiful evidence of the skill and artistic abilities of our forefathers.

 

During the tour we will visit the village of Siggiewi where we will stop for prayer at the village parish church of St. Nicholas.

 

Our day comes to an end where you will be guided through the cave of Ghar Dalam, one of the first habitats of these islands.

Day 6

 

The Three Cities

 

 

 

 

Discover the historical area known as the three cities: Vittoriosa, Cospicua and Senglea.

 

A Drive past Cospicua will bring us to Vittoriosa where we walk through the various narrow streets shaded by many historic buildings and churches.

 

At Vittoriosa there will be also time for some moments of prayer at St. Lawrence Church and in Senglea Church , were time will be given to visit the shrine of the holy Redeemer.

 

Also included on tour is an extensive drive along the fortifications that surround this port area including the small Bay of Kalkara.

 

In Senglea we have a look from the beautiful ’vedette’ placed in the centre of the Grand Harbour.

 

We end today’s tour with a visit to a local winery where after having listened to the explanation about the local cultivation for grapes for wine some wine tasting can be done.

Day 7

 

North Malta

 

 

Morning departure for the northern village of Mellieha where we visit the Sanctuary dedicated to Our Lady.

 

We then proceed to Golden Sands Bay passing through the agricultural area known as Pwales Valley.

 

In the afternoon we proceed to the seaside town dedicated to St. Paul from where we board a local boat to visit from closely S. Paul’s Islands where Apostle Paul was shipwrecked in 60 A.D.

 

Lunch will be served.

Day 8

 

Departure

 

Pick up from hotel will be two hours before your scheduled flight of departure.
